12 Good History Apps for High School Students

This is the second post in a series of posts dedicated entirely to educational apps to use with high school students. The previous list was about math apps. Today’s collection features a number of useful apps for teaching/learning history. While most of these apps cover world history in general few of them  are US specific.  You may want to go through the list and see which ones work for you. Links to the apps are under the visual. Whether you need to study for a history test or simply want to become more familiar with world history, this app has comprehensive and accurate information which helps you do both.’9- US History Timeline‘The ‘US History Timeline(Free)’ is an application which shows the list of important events from US history. Each event includes a hot-link to the appropriate entry of Wikipedia. ’10- Today in History‘Today in History is the BEST way to get key facts about iconic global events and fun facts from across the centuries, delivered right to your mobile device.’
11- Historia World‘Historia is very easy to play: try to find the date of the historic events of the selected category. The closer you are, the bigger your score! If you can gain enough points you will be rewarded with a book in your library.’
12- Remembering WWI‘The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) invites you to participate, collaborate, and engage with the Archives’ extensive collection of World War I moving and still images.’
